We are indeed living in a first class city
I wish to suggest you a trip on Dubai Metro’s : a short travel experience in order to sightseeing the urbanization view of Dubai as well as all construction and project developments completed and in progress, like the Water Canal, and – if you can – make a visit also to admire each station that has been transformed in art points beside the different prospect views of the local architecture.
We have already started planning the activities for the coming months and we seek your own suggestions for additional ways in which we can achieve our Association’s objectives.
Let me remind you of the
Italian Business Council’s principal aims
In few words, we are supporting and developing business relations particularly between the Dubai & Northern Emirates and Italy; promoting Italian business presents in the UAE, providing an opportunity for the Italian Business community to meet regularly during our events, exchanging information and introducing the most significant developments in the area and benefiting of business networking with all international business community belonging to the other almost 40 Business councils registered.
We are aware of the many similar groups you can find today in Dubai , but we have to remind that we are the ones constantly in touch with Dubai Chamber that is extending the possibility to meet representatives of the economic mission delegations arriving from other Countries of the world and is always keen to assist
each and every Business Council and their Members in case of need.
During our meetings it was decided to update and upgrade the official website of the Italian Business Council Dubai & Northern Emirates. We, sincerely, hope it will not only serve as a comprehensive guide to the information you might be looking for, but also serves as a window of opportunity to learn more
about Italy, UAE, as well as all that our organization stands for.
One of our new Board’ Members will be in charge to carry out the due changes in coordination with the Board and Secretariat. Any new idea from the IBCD Members is also welcomed.
And it has been decided to open the official Facebook page of Italian Business Council and we are asking all of you to please “like” the same and ask your friends to follow us !
Secondly, we taught that it would be important to approach a series of Governmental institutions to develop contacts and to get useful information on different topics of practical interests. We have already started by approaching the Department of Economic Development in order to organize seminars – like the one on 15th of May – on basic procedural information and awareness about how to protect your business and your rights.
I want take now this opportunity also to sincerely thank our outgoing Council Vice-Presidents Giorgio Fugazzi and Guido Zagatti for their contribution to the association over the past years mandate.
Finally, I am thankful to all Members of the Italian Business Council who, besides handling their demanding corporate activities, contribute their time to making this such a highly successful Association and invite others to be a part of making this venture an even greater accomplishment.
Best wishes to all of you for a growing business year ahead!
Pasquale Della Penna
Dear IBC Members,

Dubai closed 2013 with a record-breaking success, including winning its bidding for the World Expo of 2020, a massive firework spectacle that even made the Guinness Book of Records, the official passenger terminal launch of DWC, Emirates’ highest order placement for new planes ever (including its giant A380), a new record for visitors coming to Dubai and not to forget a Crown Prince seating on the top edge of the world’s tallest tower, the Burj Khalifa (I don’t think any other crown prince could ever do that).
For the Italian Business Council (IBC), it has been an exciting year as well; we ran more events than ever, welcomed a high amount of new Members, have been honored with a quick and positive response from our Colleagues , and saw a much closer collaboration with authorities as the Dubai Chamber of Commerce, the Dubai Customs, the Italian Trade Commission, the Consulate General of Italy in Dubai and the Embassy of Italy in Abu Dhabi.
Also, for the first time, the Dubai Courts has been participating to a private event organized by us at IBC during the month of April about
“Succession Planning, Sharià law and Succession in UAE; Inheritance and Private International Law”
With the presence of Honorable Guest Speaker : H.E. Justice Dr. Ali Ibrahim El Imam Ali – Chief Justice of Cassation at Dubai Courts, officialising with his honorable presence the validity of our Conference.
Last but not least, we welcomed different new corporate partners, and have had relevant meetings with Government bodies of Sharjah, Ajman and Ras Al Khaimah.
Very soon, the IBC will have a new Executive Board, which will be presented to you shortly.
Keeping always in mind that IBC aim is to serve as a catalyst for economic development in Dubai & UAE , and actions of the Council in furtherance of its mission will be on a non-partisan basis and carried out with the highest standard of integrity, honesty, ethical practices, and professionalism, I wish you once again all the best and looking forward to meet all of you at our upcoming events in 2014.
